Vorführung des inzwischen weltweit anerkannten Freeware-Programms LOW. Es eignet sich als Beobachtungshilfe bei Stern- und Planetenbedeckungen durch den Mond.

The Lunar Occultation Workbench (LOW) is there for anyone, such as you, who is interested in computing predictions of occultations by the Moon of the 8 major planets and the 53.920 stars (21.8% of which are Hipparcos stars!) listed in the XZ94F star catalogue. In addition you can record your observations and send them by email to be reduced by the International Lunar Occultation Centre in Japan.

You can, among many features, also view the Moon and the planet or star as they would appear at the time of occultation. The moon's phase and even the colouring of the moon due to the Earth's shadow during a lunar eclipse are taken into account!

Over the last year LOW has become the world's defacto standard for predicting and recording lunar occultations.
