Bericht über die Arbeit der im Jahre 1978 gegründeten Sektion Sternbedeckungen der RASNZ.
Sie ist zuständig für die Region Neuseeland, Australien und den Süd-Pazifik.

This paper deals with the operation of the RASNZ's Occultation Section, which was formed in 1978.

The Section's purpose is to encourage and co-ordinate occultation observing throughout New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific. It does this by providing information (predictions and news) for all types of occultations to current observers, and by encouraging new observers to take up this form of observing. Although the Section is based in New Zealand, it has always had a strong membership in Australia, especially in Queensland and the south-eastem states.

This short paper deals with the activities of the section, its publications, and some recent successes.
